This is an excellent example of an unusual fossil. It is a complete Millipede (Diplopoda) trapped in Dominican Amber. This specimen has great detail - the segmented body is very well preserved. The myriad of legs is fully intact, and there is even an antenna displayed. Under magnification, the millipede is easily seen nicely centered within the large, oval amber piece. This is a very collectible Millipede fossil from the Amber Mines of the Dominican Republic (small close-up photo is included for free).
