Size:  Amber piece is 0.65 inches long

This is a large assemblage of insects in amber. It is a swarm of Flying Ants (Hymenoptera) in Dominican Amber. There are nine Winged Male Ants trapped in the amber piece. They have nice detail and display well. The ants are easily seen in the cognac-colored amber nugget. This is an unusual example of a swarm of Flying Ants in amber (small close-up photo is included for free).
