Stock Number  ACSPI06
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Spider (Araneae)
Age:  Oligocene
Formation:  Amber Mines
Location:  Dominican Republic
Size:  Piece of amber is 0.5 inches long

This is a very nice arachnid in amber. It is a Spider (Araneae) from the Oligocene deposits of the Dominican Republic. This specimen exhibits wonderful detail. All eight legs of the spider are quite distinct. The spider is well centered in the piece of amber and easily seen with the naked eye. This is an excellent Spider entombed in "fossil ooze" (small close-up photo is included for free).
