This is a beautiful insect in Baltic Amber. It is a Bark Louse (Psocoptera) from Russia. This specimen has great detail, showing the legs and antennae. The wing pattern is unusual and very beautiful, looking like a stained glass window. The louse is easily seen in the large amber piece. This is a very interesting and beautiful insect trapped in fossil ooze (close-up photo is included for free).
