Spider (Araneae)
Age: Oligocene
Formation: Amber Mines
Location: Dominican Republic
Size: Amber piece is 0.85 inches long
This is a very detailed arachnid in amber. It is a beautiful Spider (Araneae) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen is extremely well-preserved. The long legs and body of the spider are covered with tiny hairs - what a scary sight! The large spider is easily seen in the golden amber piece. This is a very displayable Spider trapped forever in ''fossil ooze'' (small close-up photo is included for free).
