Name:
Spider (Araneae)
Age: Eocene
Formation: Amber Mines
Location: Dominican Republic
Size: Amber piece is 0.4 inches long
This is a nice example of a Spider (Araneae) trapped in Dominican Amber. This specimen has fine detail and was caught in an aesthetic pose. The web spinners are easily seen protruding from the rear of the spider. The spider can be readily seen in the colorful nugget of amber. This is a very good fossil spider preserved in ''fossil ooze'' (small close-up photo is included for free).
