Very Detailed Aphid with Long Appendage
Stock Number  ACBAP01

Name:   Aphid (Homoptera)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Deposits
Location:  Russia
Size:  Amber piece is 0.7 inches long

This is an unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is a large Aphid (Homoptera) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This Aphid has great detail - the antennae, head, and legs are all well displayed. The elongated body is quite evident, and the long feeding appendage is still intact. And there is also another insect trapped in the amber piece. This is a very detailed example of this uncommon insect in Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
