This is a very unusual amber fossil. It is a fossilized Cypress bud from Russia. Plant fossils are very rare in amber. This specimen has great detail - there is no mistaking what it is. It is large and easily seen in the huge amber piece. And if you look closely, there is even an Aphid (Homoptera) at the top of the bud! This is a very rare plant fossil trapped in Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
