This is an uncommon insect in Baltic Amber. It is a Humpbacked Fly (Phoridae) from Russia. It looks like a common, everyday fly, but it isn't. This specimen has a nice "flying" pose. It is a good example of an insect trapped in amber (close-up photo is included).
