Name:
Fossil Flower and Insects
Age: Eocene
Formation: Amber Deposits
Location: Russia
Size: Amber piece is 2.1 inches long!
This is a very rare botanical inclusion in amber. There is a rare fossil flower trapped in this large chunk of Baltic Amber. The flower has great detail - the venation of the petals is easily seen. There is also a complete insect preserved next to the flower. There are also two fossil flies, a leaf, and tiny pollen spores (not pictured) in the HUGE amber piece. This is a very collectible amber fossil with both plants and animals represented (close-up photo is included for free).
