This is a very detailed insect in amber. It is a True Midge (Chironomidae) from Russia. This specimen has remarkable detail. The wings, legs, eyes, and antennae all well-displayed - the wing preservation is especially beautiful. The fly is easily seen in the honey-colored amber piece. This is a fabulous True Midge in Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
