This is an excellent insect in Baltic Amber. It is a Sand Fly (Psychodidae) from Russia. This type of fly is distinguished by its distinct wing pattern. This fly has nice wings and fine overall detail. It is nicely displayed in the large amber piece. This is a very good Sand Fly in amber (close-up photo is included for free).
