This exotic looking creature is a Dance Fly (Empididae). It is preserved in Baltic Amber from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This insect has splendid detail. You can see the head, body, wings, legs, etc. The fly is very large and easily seen in the amber piece. It is a very unusual inclusion in Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
