This is a very detailed insect in amber. It is a Crane Fly from Russia. Crane Flies are uncommon in amber because they are large and have long legs. This specimen shows the legs and the wings well. But look at the head! The eyes are huge and the "feelers" are grotesque - it looks like an alien! This is a very detailed example of a rare insect in amber.
