This is an excellent insect in Baltic Amber. It is a Fungus Gnat (Mycetophilidae) from Russia. This gnat has exquisite detail and a classic pose. The wing pattern is great and the antennae are LONG. And you can even see the facets of the compound eyes! This is simply one of the best insects in amber we have ever had (close-up photo is included).
