Unusual Humpback Fly in Baltic Amber

This is an unusual fossil insect in amber. It is a Humpbacked Fly (Phoridae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen has great detail, especially on the wings. The large fly was preserved in the classic flying pose. It is easily seen trapped within the amber piece. This is a very nice example of a Humpbacked Fly in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free.)
