This is a great example of a Fungus Gnat (Mycetophilidae) preserved in Baltic Amber. The insect has fabulous detail, especially on the large wings. The venation of the wings is easily seen. The fly is well displayed in the clear amber piece. This is a wonderful specimen of a Fungus Gnat entrapped in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo of the Fungus Gnat is included for free).
