This is a nice fly trapped in Dominican Amber. It is a complete Dolichopodidae (Long-Legged Fly) with wings spread. This specimen has very good detail. All of its key features are easily seen. There are also three other insects trapped in the amber piece. This is a great example of insects in fossil amber - trapped in time (small close-up photo is included for free).
