This is a very collectible amber fossil. It is a pair of Mating Midges (Chironomidae) in Baltic Amber. These lovebirds were trapped while in the throes of passion. You can easily see the large, U-shaped genitalia of the male. And, wow, look at the detail of both bugs! These two little fornicators are entombed in this beautiful honey-colored amber nugget for eternity. This is a very rare and collectible "moment in time" trapped forever in fossil amber (close-up photo is included for free).
