This is a large grouping of fossil insects. There are 15 assorted insects in this chunk of Baltic Amber. There are 10 Fungus Gnats, 3 Sand Flies, a Long-Legged Fly, and a Leafhopper all trapped inside. Although only a Long-Legged Fly and two Fungus Gnats are pictured, the rest of the insects are easily seen in the huge chunk of amber. The mass of amber weighs 8.8 grams and is one of the largest amber pieces with inclusions we have had. This is a very collectible amber fossil - both for the large amount of amber preserved and also the multitude of insects represented (close-up photo is included for free).
