Now this is a swarm of insects in amber! They are mostly Fungus Gnats (Mycetophilidae) caught in Baltic Amber from Russia. The very large amber piece houses at least 20 different insects. They are all easily seen under magnification. It is very interesting to see so many insects in one piece of amber. This is a multitude of insects trapped in Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
