Nice Beetle & Long-Legged Fly In Amber
Stock Number  ACS12

Name:   Beetle & Long-Legged Fly
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Deposits
Location:  Baltic Coast, Russia
Size:  Piece of amber is 0.7 inches long.

This is a great piece of amber containing two insects. There is a Beetle (Coleoptera) and a Long-Legged Fly (Dolichopodidae) preserved side by side. The insects have excellent detail. The tiny legs are present. The venation of the wings is evident. The wing covers on the beetle display nice reticulation. They are well centered in the piece of honey-colored amber. This is a beautiful specimen of two different insects in Baltic Amber from Russia. A close-up photo will be included for free.
