This is a huge swarm of insects trapped in Baltic Amber. This large grouping of Fungus Gnats and other insects is from Russia. There are so many insects in the piece, they are hard to count. They are mainly Fungus Gnats, but there is at least one ant and other types of insects represented. This is an excellent swarm of insects in amber (close-up photo is included for free).
