This is a very cool insect in Burmese Amber. It is a nice Wasp (Hymenoptera) from Myanmar (Burma). Amber from this area is Cretaceous in age, meaning it is from the time of the dinosaurs! Wasps are very uncommon in Burmese Amber and usually display poorly. This specimen exhibits excellent detail. The head, body, legs, wings, and compound eyes are all present. The segmented antennae also make for an interesting display. The wasp is nicely showcased and easily seen in the amber nugget. This is a wonderful fossil wasp in Burmese Amber (large close-up photo will be included for free).
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
