This is a fine example of an unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is a large Caddisfly (Trichoptera) from Russia. The Caddisfly is excellent, displaying the barbed legs, and long antennae extremely well. This distinct insect is easily seen trapped in the honey-colored amber piece. This is a cool example of a Caddisfly entombed in ''fossil ooze'' (Large close-up photo is included for free).
