This is a very nice insect in Dominican Amber. It is a Long-Legged Fly (Dolichopodidae) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen has very good detail preserved - the long legs and huge compound eyes are very easily seen. The distinct fly is beautifully intact, and the pose is the classic ''flying'' position. The specimen is easily seen trapped in the amber piece. This is a fine insect preserved in fossil amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
