Very Fine Gall Gnat Preserved in an Amber Bead!

This is an unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is a fine Gall Gnat (Cecidomiidaea) from Russia. This specimen has very good detail - the simple wings are easily seen. The fly is preserved in a fabulous oval amber bead - see the bead displayed in tweezers in the second photo. Great for use in jewelry! This is a very nice Gall Gnat trapped in a Baltic Amber bead.
