This is an excellent Parasitic Mite (Acari) trapped in Baltic Amber from the Eocene Deposits of Russia. Mites and ticks suck life juices from their hosts. This specimen has great detail - the long appendages are very easily seen. This is a very interesting organism to be fossilized in Baltic Amber.
