This is a very unusual inclusion in Baltic Amber. It is a rare Brachycera Fly from Russia. Brachycera Flies are a controversial family of insects because of poor identification. This one has very good detail preserved. The large eyes are quite distinct and easily seen. The fly is nicely showcased in the amber piece. This is a very fine fly entombed in fossil amber.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
