Here is a very rare amber fossil. This is a pair of Fossil Flowers from the Oligocene Deposits of the Dominican Republic. Plants, especially flowers, are rare occurrences in amber - they had to fall in or be blown into the amber, whereas insects could crawl or fly into the sap. So it is rare enough to find two flowers in amber, but these flowers are DIFFERENT TYPES, which makes this piece that much more unique. These flowers have great detail preserved - the individual petals are quite distinct, and many of the long stamens are visible, which is unusual. The large flowers are easily seen in the polished piece of fossilized tree resin. In fact, the entire amber piece has flowers and petals scattered throughout! This is an ultra rare example of two different types of flowers preserved in Domincan Amber (THREE DIFFERENT close-up photos are included for free).

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
