This is a very rare inclusion in Dominican Amber. It is a spiny Millipede (Diplopoda, Polyxenidae) of the type Polyxenus sp. Spiny millipedes were rarely trapped in amber, especially Dominican Amber. This specimen has great detail - note the very fine bristles preserved on all sides of the Millipede. the 'pede displays well in the huge amber piece that also has two worker ants entombed. This is a very unusual fossil of a Spiny Millipede in amber (THREE different close-up photos are included for free).
