This is an excellent cockroach in amber. It is from the famous Amber Mines of the Dominican Republic. The cockroach is one of the longest-surviving animals on the planet. This specimen has very fine detail preserved - the underside view is especially grotesque! The cockroach is easily seen in the honey-colored amber piece.
